Signing of the Cooperation between the Office of the Supreme Court the Union and the Embassy of the Denmark on Rule of Law and Human Rights, the Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme (2016-2020)

The Ceremony for signing of the Cooperation between the Office of the Supreme Court the Union and the Embassy of the Denmark on Rule of Law and Human Rights, the Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme (2016-2020) was held at the Supreme Court of the Union, Nay Pyi Taw, at 14:00 today.

The Ceremony was attended by the Hon. Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo, the Hon. Supreme Court Justices, senior officials of the Supreme Court of the Union, the Ambassador and the representatives from Embassy of Denmark, Myanmar.

During the signing ceremony, the Hon. Htun Htun Oo, Chief Justice of the Union, delivered a speech. In the speech, he said that the Denmark- Myanmar Country Programme 2016-2020 was signed by the Deputy Minister of Planning and Finance on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Danish Ambassador on behalf of the Government of Denmark, according to the Country Programme, the Development Engagement Document(DED) is signed between the Office of the Union Supreme Court and Embassy  of Denmark to collaborate on the implementation of the development engagement on Rule of Law and Human Rights; that cooperation and activities will be running under the umbrella of judicial strategic plan.          

    Then,   H.E. Peter Lysholt Hansen, Ambassador of Denmark Embassy, also delivered a speech. In the speech, he said that the Office of the Union Supreme Court and Embassy of Denmark confirm their commitment to collaborate on the implementation of the Development engagement on rule of Law and Human Rights, which forms an integral part of the Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme 2016-2020; Denmark will support to the Office of the Union Supreme Court under the Development Engagement on Rule of Law and Human Rights.

 After delivering the speeches, Director General of the Office of the Supreme Court of the Union and Ambassador of Denmark Embassy signed the Cooperation between the Office of the Supreme Court the Union and the Embassy of the Denmark on Rule of Law and Human Rights, the Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme (2016-2020).
