Union Chief Justice attends the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices' Special Meeting in Makati City, Philippines

 UNION CHIEF JUSTICE U Htun Htun Oo attended the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices' (CACJ) Special Meeting held in Makati City, Philippines on 27 October 2017.

         

 Present at the meeting were the Chief Justices and their delegate in ASEAN, and discussed on the Working Groups' reports for implementing the Internet Portal of ASEAN Judiciaries, cooperating the training for judges and judicial officers, studying the Court Technology and Case Management, Cross-border Child Disputes, draft a rule for Facilitating the Service of Civil Process and so on.

 At the meeting the Chief Justices also discussed on immediate issues including the establishment of Standing CACJ Secretariat and finalization of CACJ Charter and signed " the Manila Declaration " and Memorandum of Understanding in relation to the ASEAN Judiciaries Portal.

         

 The representatives of the Supreme Court of the Union took part in the Working Group Meeting held along with CACJ Special Meeting.
