Conducting Mediation Skills Workshop for Judges

The Mediation Skills Workshop for Judges was held by the Supreme Court of the Union at the Royal ACE Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw from 27 to 30 April 2015 in collaboration with the Singapore Ministry of Law and Singapore Mediation Center.

 

       

 


The Workshop was conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Singapore Munistry of Law of the Republic of Singapore and the Supreme Court of the Union of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The objectives of the Workshop are to share the experiences of mediation mechanism for disputes practicing in Singapore courts and the feasibility of its ways to be used in Myanmar.
Mr. Loong Seng Onn, Executive Director of Singapore Mediation Center and Mr. See Chern Yang, Associate Director of Premier Law LLC made their discussions about the concept and procedure of Mediation,and the necessities of a mediator.

 

       

 


Altogether 27 judges and judicial officers from the Office of the Supreme Court of the Union, the Office of the Judicial Supervision of the Union, the Office  of the Chief Justice of the Union and the District Courts and Township Courts were
attended at the 4-day long Workshop.
